Day 1 - 4: Chinzombo

Meet our representative in Lusaka Airport where you will be escorted to your connecting flight to Mfuwe; the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park. Enjoy spectacular views from the air as you fly into the South Luangwa Valley, the flight takes just over an hour. On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, you will be transported to Chinzombo, where you can settle into your lovely suite. This afternoon after an excellent afternoon tea, you will participate in your first game viewing activity and night drive where you’ll get to see magnificent skyscapes and sunsets, a wealth of migratory birds, crystal clear night skies and occasional dramatic tropical downpours.

Days 4 - 7: Kakuli Bushcamp

After breakfast you prepare for your adventure to another part of the African bush, jump aboard the boat for your trip up to Kakuli Bush Camp. Kakuli features luxury tents with stunning views of the Luangwa River, which is home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa. Daily game walks and boating safaris will be conducted in the same manner as previous days. Kakuli provides the back drop for a safari during the most exciting time to be in the South Luangwa Valley. You’ll have a unique and unforgettable safari experience for photographers, wildlife and bird enthusiasts, as well as those who are looking for new adventure in Africa.

Day 7 - 9: Kumbali Lake Retreat

Following 7 nights in the bush it’s time to visit Lake Malawi, first stop Kumbali Lake Retreat. Kumbali Lake Retreat is a new eco-friendly lodge on the beautiful shores of Lake Malawi. Owned and run by the same family who owns Kumbali Country Lodge, the lake retreat comes with the same familiar ‘home away from home’ feel with comfort and nature at the main focus.

Day 9 - 12: mumbo island

After a final breakfast at Kumbali Lake Retreat it is time to drive to Cape Maclear in time for an afternoon boat transfer to Mumbo Island. The boat transfer takes around 45 minutes, or if you’re feeling like an athlete you can kayak, this take approximately 2 hours. Enjoy the next 3 days in paradise, make the most of the incredible snorkelling, crystal clear waters, fascinating bird life, diverse flora and fauna, semi challenging walks and stunning sunsets. Make sure to hike up to Pod Rock for a sundowner.
